Dr. Jackson was raised in a military family. He attended the University of West Florida where he earned a degree in Exercise Science, and then completed medical school at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Jackson completed residency training in general psychiatry at the University of South Carolina, where he served as chief resident and received extensive training in multiple psychotherapeutic treatment modalities.
After residency, Dr. Jackson completed fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of Virginia. While there, he completed criminal and civil forensic evaluations at the prestigious Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy (ILPPP), provided forensic consultation to various state courts at Western State Psychiatric Hospital, and cared for patients in a maximum security prison.
Dr. Jackson currently practices inpatient psychiatry at Western State Hospital, where he cares for patients on a forensic admission unit.
